Advent, Day 10 – Not So Random Acts Of Kindness

The thing about kindness is that you have to decide to do it. Reflexively we have two responses to most situations that do not give some form of anticipated or imediate reward - fight or flight. What if our default position was to be kind  might that not transform the world? It has been said that kindness is within our power, even when fondness is not. Today, take time to be kind to someone with whom you do not have a reason to be kind. Make eye contact. Don't just ask how they are doing, find out how they are doing. Do what you can to acknowledge another soul, and you may find that you are the one who feels less alone at the end of the day.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: "Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another" Zecharia 7:9
